A cloudy day with a gentle breeze but warm enough to enjoy our Sports Spectacular. Games from badminton and croquet to table tennis and pickup sticks were scattered around for anyone to enjoy and six brave teams battled it out to be the Victoria Park Duck Decathlon Champions. They competed in ten crazy races, from the more traditional sack and skipping races to the more unusual, Chuck a Duck and and Hook a Duck competitions and there were winners. In bronze duck position were the ‘Chicken Licken’ team, closely beaten by the ‘All stars’ but in the Golden Duck position, our champions were the ‘Gorsehill Giants’.

Thank you also to the Refreshment team who kept up our energy and spirits with lollies, hot dogs, buns and drinks. Teresa was ablely assisted by Cllr Tom Ross, Cllr Steve Adshead, Cllr Dolores O’Sullivan and Kate Green our local MP, who give of their time and energies so enthusiastically to our park.
