Exciting plans are under way for Victoria Park.
Construction started in October 2020, to replace the original community building near the under 14s play area.
Take a look at progress so far!
8 October 2020 Foundations begin 16 October The water tank arrives 21 October, plumbing in place 21 October. Concrete base foundations in. 21 October 22 October 9 November 13 November The first walls are up 13 November 13 November 20 November 22 November 23 November. Steel roof joists into place 25 November. All SIPS panels complete 26 November. First stage of cladding underway
You can see the boxed in area at the right, for the disabled and Changing Places accessible toilets, plus 2 cubicles. We all know just how desperate you all are to have toilets back in the park.
The Tea Room kitchen will be fitted in the corner of the building, with an external serving hatch, so we can start serving takeaway drinks and food.
The main downstairs area on the left, will be the Community Room, with large doors, giving a view and access to the playground. So you can sit and enjoy a drink whilst watching your children play.
Upstairs we have room for storage and office space.
Despite all the delays and changes, we are aiming to be open by the end of January 2021
New community building plans
These are the plans, some of which show the original building and some show the proposed new build for comparison.
Huge thanks to Shelly and the Board of Trustees for all their hard work on the project so far.
