The Friends of Victoria Park, Stretford are committed to making the Community Building an inclusive and welcoming community centre, that recognises and values the inherent worth and dignity of everyone. We want the space to be somewhere that everyone is treated fairly, in a safe, nurturing, and professional environment.
For this to happen, we believe everyone should foster tolerance, sensitivity, community spirit, understanding, and mutual respect, among all that use the building.
As such, we expect everyone who uses the Community Building – whether they are staff, or visitors – to follow the principles and expectations of our Code of Conduct.
OUR PRINCIPLES & EXPECTATIONS
We expect everyone who uses the park to treat others with mutual respect and dignity. We will not tolerate any bullying, intimidation, violence, or threatening behaviour in the park.
We believe that everyone should be treated equally and that diversity should be celebrated. We want the park to be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background, or ability.
We will not tolerate racism, homophobia, obscene language, sexism, harassment or any other behaviour that is deemed offensive.
We value creativity, collaboration and the exchange of ideas. We encourage everyone who uses the park to strive to reach their own potential and to support others to do the same.
We expect users of the building to respect the property and space of other users. We ask that users of the building do so safely and take responsibility for their own actions.
We ask everyone to treat our building and park with respect.
We want to make the Community Building and park a sustainable workplace and community venue. This commitment is detailed more fully in our Sustainability Policy. We ask all users of the building to do what they can to help meet the commitments in this policy.
